1. Who is responsible
The data controller is Potens Music Production OÜ (registry code 16852975), Soo tn 28-10, 10414 Tallinn, Estonia. Contact: contact@potens.ee.
2. What we collect and why
- Purchases. Software orders are processed by our reseller Paddle.com, who collects your name, email, payment and location details as Merchant of Record under its own privacy policy. Paddle shares with us your name, email, country and order details so we can deliver your license and provide support. Orders in our own store are processed by WooPayments (Stripe) or PayPal.
- License activation. When you activate our software we process your license key, email, a non-personal identifier of your computer, the software version and the IP address of the request, to validate your license and prevent misuse.
- Newsletter. If you subscribe, we store your email address and send you news about our products using Brevo. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email. Legal basis: your consent.
- Emails to buyers. If you buy one of our plugins, we may email you about our similar products (new plugins, upgrades, offers), unless you untick “Email me about new Potens plugins” at checkout. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in informing existing customers (Estonian Electronic Communications Act §103¹).
- Update emails. If you hold a license, we email you about new versions and important fixes of the software you use. This is part of providing the license, not marketing.
- Contact and support. If you email us or use our contact form, we use your message and email to reply.
- Website. Our website uses cookies needed for the shop and cart to work, and collects anonymised visit statistics (Jetpack). Our website is hosted by Zone Media OÜ in Estonia.
3. Legal bases
We process data to perform our contract with you (orders, licenses, support), based on your consent (newsletter), and for our legitimate interests (preventing fraud and license misuse, website security), and to meet legal obligations (accounting).
4. Who receives your data
Paddle.com (reseller), Brevo (email delivery and newsletter), Zone Media OÜ (hosting), Automattic / Jetpack (statistics, security), and for own-store orders WooPayments / Stripe and PayPal. Some of these providers may process data outside the EU under appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
5. How long we keep it
Order and license data: as long as your license is active and as required by accounting law (up to 7 years). Newsletter: until you unsubscribe. Support emails: up to 3 years.
6. Your rights
You may request access to, correction or deletion of your data, object to processing, withdraw consent, and request data portability by emailing contact@potens.ee. You may also complain to the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon, www.aki.ee).
7. Changes
We may update this policy. The current version is always published on this page.
